All color lithographs with vivid colors and protected by tissue guards. With a 4 page preface by Henry Miller in facsimile of his handwriting. The lithographs are printed by Roth & Sauer in Lausanne on hand made, tinted, papier Velin. One of only 75 copies with an extra suite of all 15 lithographs printed in black & white on Chine paper (from a total edition of 395). SIGNED on the limitation page by Leger and publisher Louis Grosclaude. Loose sheets in wrappers protected by glassine dustjacket. In original publishers chemise and slipcase. 2 Text pages with light offsetting from the opposite lithographs. Chemise with small tears along head and tail of joints, slipcase with wear to edges. 34 x 26 cm. 134, pp. Index. Leger incorporated Rimbaud's poems from 'Les Illuminations' into his compositions. Parts of four poems are used in illustrations, but there are also three poems ('H', 'Elle aimee' and 'Depart') that have not been printed and do not appear in the index. They only occur as illustrations in the book. Leger has entirely appropriated these poems, leaving out all interpunction. The text was written in calligraphy.
