The front end papers show "The Twentieth Century Limited" of the New York Central in full color, highballing on the main line, by Walter Greene, and used by the NYC for its 1926 calendar; the rear end papers are a stunning, full-color tribute to the Pennsylvania Railroad's experimental S-1 6-4-4-6 steam locomotive, referred to as "The Big Engine", painted by Grif Teller, the work appeared on the PRR's 1940 calendar. Jacket art by William Harnden Foster of the Missouri Pacific's 'Sunshine Special' of 1926, racing along the bluffs of the Mississippi River south of St. Louis.
