Title: Das Werk Der Heiden-Mission (Insbesondere Der Hermannsburger) Und Seine Bedeutung Für Die Heutigen Aufgaben Der Kirche in Rücksicht Auf Die Warnung Beck's
Description: (Leipzig, E. Bidder, 1882). . ("Gedanken aus und nach der Schrift" S. 131) contempory cloth-back textured paper over boards, defective, pp. 72. Heavy browning and foxing. Poor. The Hermannsburg Missionary Society grew out of a religious revival in the region of Lüneberg during the mid-19th Century. The Society sent its first missionaries to East Africa but these were denied permission to preach in Gallaland and proceeded to Natal where they established a mission on the borders of Zululand. By the end of the century, 124 Hermannsburg missionaries had established themselves in South Africa. The item on offer here concerns itself with theological matters; it may be a critique of the Society and its approach - black letter script rather hard to read..
