Description: F. C. Juta & Co. 1902, 2nd Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. 954 pages (complete). The boards are marked and rubbed. The book has been slightly knocked on the corners. The hinges on the spine are discoloured and have some small tears. The spine is bumped and frayed at the edges. The gold gilt on the spine has faded slightly but remains readable. Internally the book is well preserved. The pages have darkened slightly, but the text remains clear and crisp. A previous owner has stamped the book twice, once on the front end page and once on the verso of the front end page. The book is signed and inscribed on the front paste down by a previous owner. There are small damp stains but this affects only a small number of the pages. The rear spine has cracked and lifted inside but has been carefully repaired. The binding remains strong and firm. Fair/No Jacket.
