Title: Memorials of John Hamilton Wicksteed; Being Passages from His Journal and Letters
Description: C. Green and Son. 1883, First Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. The title page has been inscribed by J. Hartley Wicksteed (the author's brother) to another family member. John Hamilton Wicksteed was appointed as Port Elizabeth's town engineer and architect in 1881. He was only 30. Sadly, soon after this, he took his own life. The boards are a touch edge worn and cocked, but remain strong and sturdy, with bright gilt to the front and spine. Internally, there is some very light tanning throughout, but there are no other markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are neat and complete. Tightly bound and in very good condition indeed considering the age of the book! JK. Very Good/No Jacket.
