Title: The Big Book of Fairy Tales
Description: Blackie and Son, Limited, London and Glasgow. 1911, First Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. Ill.: Robinson, Charles. 344 pages (complete). A much owned and aging copy. The book is beautifully illustrated by Charles Robinson (the elder brother of William Heath Robinson of overly-complicated machinery drawings fame). The boards have much wear, fading, scuffing, handling and storage marks all about. The spine - with gilt titling (much faded) - has wear from head to foot. It is secure and efficient. The boards are comfortable and resolute. The final papers have much wear, foxing, tanning. The colour illustrations have wear about the edges, but the colours are bright, decorous, genteel, chic, most pleasing. The contents have foxing here and there, wear about the edges, handling marks. They are by far thick, clean, clear, companionable, welcoming, healthy, amiable. fk. Good/No Jacket.
