Title: Fly Tyer. The First Five Years. Voume 1, Issue 1 through Volume 5, Issue 4. {Complete in 20 Issues}.
Description: North Conway, New Hanpshire. Fly Tyer. The first five years of publication. Twenty issues - Volume 1, Issue 1 (May 1978) through Volume 5, Issue 4 (February 1983). Fly Tyer published four issues each year. It’s the premier fly dressing periodical. Each issue averages 60 pp. Fly Tyer explored the fly dressers world in all its hyper-idiosyncrasies and miniscule minutia. Over the years Fly Tyer featured many of the best fly dressers, largely concentrated in the U. S. displaying their favorite patterns and techniques. Line drawings for each fly pattern and detailed, lengthy, written descriptions. Here’s a very short list of the galaxy of contributing authors: Darwin Atkin, Joseph D. Bates, John Betts, Gary Borger, Charles E, Brooks, Harry Darbee, Walt Dette, Bon Ent, Keith Fulsher, Jack Gartside, George Grant, Rene Harrop, Bill Hunter, Chaucey Lively, Ted Niemeyer, Bob Mead, Sylvester Nemes, Jack L. Parker, Datus Proper, Polly Rosborough, Helen Shaw, Al Troth, Dave Whitlock, Lee Wulff, etc. Each issue shows the featured flies in color. The 20 issues in very good condition with light edge wear to a few.
