The literate extraordinaire Mr. Marston writes about Dame Juliana Berners and her book, Treatyse of Fyssynge with an Angle, Leonard Mascall’s Booke of Fishing with Hooke and Line, John Dennys’ Secrets of Angling, Gervase Markham’s Art of Angling, and then devotes himself to Izaak Walton’s book and many of its editions, The Complete Angler. With the book plate of S. Dale Furst, Jr. a well-known Pennsylvania fly fisherman and member of the Anglers Club of New York and Philadelphia, plus the London Flyfishers. The book is bound in its original green cloth with gilt titles, beveled edges, and deckle text sheets. Light corner wear. Very good. Signed.
