In all there are twelve engraved plates by Thomas Creswick with tissue guards, and seventy-four embellishments in the text. John Major’s introductory essay captures the spirit and piscatorial ecstasy of both Walton’s Being a Discourse of Fish and Fishing, not Unworthy the Perusal of Most Anglers, and Cotton’s Instructions How to Angle for a Trout or Grayling in a Clear Stream. The book is bound in its original brown cloth with gilt titles and decorations on the spine and front cover. Yellow end papers.
