A monumental work and study of fishes and fisheries literature - every known publication at the time of the bibliography's publication, in all languages, is included herein. This set was owned by the influential California Department of Fish and Game fisheries biologist and author, Leo Shapovalov - the set was a Christmas gift from his mother in 1936; with his signature and stamp in each volume. With a four-page review of the work by David Starr Jordan bound in at the front of volume one. This bibliography should be in the collection of folks with a serious interest in this field. The set is uniformly bound in their original gray paper wrappers with black titles on the spine and front cover. Light wear and some age-toning to the spines, otherwise a very good set. Signed.
