Title: Return to the River. A Story of the Chinook Run. {Inscribed & Signed by Roderick Haig-Brown}.
Description: First Edition. Toronto, Canada. McClelland & Stewart Limited. 1946. First Canadian Edition. Octavo (8 x 6). 248 plus page About the Author. Inscribed and signed by Roderick Haig-Brown on the half-title page. Illustrated with eight black and white plates drawn by Charles De Feo. Haig-Brown’s book is the best account published on the singular migration of a Pacific salmon as it travels from its river of birth, out to sea, and back again to spawn. The book is bound in beige cloth with green spine titles. Pictorial dust jacket. By the way, the jacket on this edition is strange looking. The fish illustrated on the jacket clearly isn’t a salmon, but it does resembles a cross between a cod and a bonefish. A nice book. Fine in a very good jacket with light edge wear. Signed by Author.
