Includes sections on The Henry Hawthorn Foundation for the Inculcation and Propagation of the Principles and Ethics of Fly Fishing - The Contemplative Man's Recreation - Landmarks in the Evolution of the Angling Literature - Some Pseudonyms Used by Angling Authors. This is a fine account of the Hawthorn Foundation and an excellent description of angling titles in the Special Collections' holdings at UBC. With the original four-page prospectus laid-in. The book is bound in full green and cream colored leather with an artificial fly (a Professor wet) dressed on a size 12 hook inset on the front cover and with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. Clear plastic dust jacket as issued. With the book plate of Joseph Bates Jr. A unique book as well as its premium edition. The book and letter in fine condition as is the dust jacket.
