This is Van's loving account of his friendship with the Haig-Browns, and his comradery with Roderick and their fishing the streams and lakes on Vancouver Island. Both volumes have a fold-out booklet in a back pocket showing the Haig-Brown flies utilized in the book, two maps of the Nimpkish River, and a 1956 color cover photo of the April 1956 issue of Sports Illustrated featuring Van hooking a brown trout.
