Color plates showing artificial fly patterns effective for slow-moving streams. Black and white photos. Text drawings. Probably the most influential angling book of the mid-twentieth century because of its break-through research, descriptions and accounts of trout rise forms, and the fly patterns and techniques to imitate them.
