Initial capitals of each section are red and enclosed in a block decorated in black with maple branches/leaves. Contents: Preface; The First Printers on the Continent of North America; The Introduction of the Press into the Martime Provinces; The Introduction of the Press into the Province of Quebec; The Pioneer Stage in The District of Montreal; The Early Progress of Printing in the Province of Ontario; The Introduction of the Press into the Western Provinces. Some very minor fading to color on top of text block, minor edge wear, previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown.. Very Good+.
