Inscribed on the front free endpaper from Jacques Ostiguy to his brother Jean: "A mon petit frere Jean P.W. / pour l'initier [?] d'avantage à sa Régiment / Jacques / le 30 oct 92." Jacques Ostiguy was a major with the Régiment de Maisonneuve and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his action at Etavaux. He attacked five German machine gun nests destroying four with grenades and a the fifth with his rifle. The author describes this actio n on page 60. His brother, Jean, a Captain with the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards saw action in Italy and was wounded at Monte Cassino. Hardcover. Fine in fine dust jacket. 208pp. Illustrations, maps.
