"Slabber illustrated the metamprophois of barnacles, but this was quickly forgotten. He also indicated metamorphosis in decapods and gave the first sketches of a myrsid and a chaetognath. Another first was the illustration of a "sea spark" (zeevonk), the "especially small and delicate" luminiscent dinoflagellate now known as Noctiluca."
