Private half leather. (Corso completo di calligrafia; spine damaged; boards (esp.corners and edges ) chafed; loosening a bit; paper foxed; original wrappers preserved) ¶ "Richter & Co was established in 1842 by a Swiss printer, to produce chromolithographs in Naples. After the unification of Italy, Richter became a supplier to the royal household, specializing in several fields including the printing of bank notes.Towards the end of the 19th century, the company was printing promotional items for commercial ventures, some of their clients included hotels. Borgoni, the company's artisitic director was in charge of the graphic images of hotels in Italy and their success there allowed them to expand onto Europe, North Africa and the Middle East where they began selling labels of their desings to important hotels there. Particularly noteworthy is his Liberty style which remained prominent until the rise of Art Deco." (British Museum).
