This part includes the Vita by Beatus Rhenanus and Erasmus' autobiography from 1530. The 23-volume edition of Erasmus' Opera by Maire, in handy pocket-size, holds a place of honour between the large folio-editions of Basle (1540) and Leiden (1703-1706). The Vita and the 'Flores', hold a place apart in the Opera, because of their autobiographical nature. The Flores is in fact a selection from the letters written by Erasmus.
