Grant'; bookplate of J.-B. Verdussen [? stamp?]; biographical note on blank: 'C. Valerius was then living, he died 1578, born 1512. For Schorelius & him see Foppens Bib. Belg. 4to p:20, 221. Apr. 7th 1792.' ¶ With dedication to Jan Scheyfve (c.1515-1581; Chancellor of Brabant) by alchemist Willem Mennens (1525 -1608), and a laudatory poem by Nicolaus Nicolai / Grudius (1504-1570), elder brother of Janus Secundus. Includes poems by Cornelius Valerius on the Joyous Entries of Charles V in Utrecht (in 1540 and 1546). ¶ The poetry of Adrianus Scorelius (Schoorl, 1530- idem, 1559) was praised by Hadrianus Junius.
