First edition of this Courcelles (Curcellaeus) edition. ¶ Stephanus Curcellaues (Etienne de Courcelles; 1586-1659) , French protestant pastor, emigrated in 1634 to Holland. For this New Testament edition he compared different manuscripts, and he was the first to give textual criticism. The second part of this edition gives variant readings. ¶ Willems 1239: "Cette édition, d'un format un peu plus grand que l'in-12 elzevirien ordinaire, est fort belle et réputée très correcte."
