(upper hinge of vol.1 weak; top of spine of vol.1 slightly damaged; some use; ties gone; some marginal waterstaining, small tear in one leaf; slightly browned and age-toned; last leaf of vol.2 and all paste-downs a bit damaged) The 6 numismatic plates in the lemma 'moneta'; the 11 last (byzantine) plates in the appendix.¶ The first edition of this classic; in reasonably good condition.
