(title-page soiled; upper corner/upper margin of a few pages browned/waterstained a bit; a few (neat) pencil-scores/annot). Good copy. ¶ Title page part two: "Isaaci Casauboni in Persii Satiras liber commentarius. Eiusdem Persiana Horatij imitatio." ¶ "The ethical interest (of Casaubon) is strong in his Persius, on which he had lectured at Geneva and Montpellier, and his commentary on the Stoic satirist, of which Scaliger said that the sauce was better than the meat, was reprinted in Germany as late as 1833, and has ultimately merged in Conington's edition."
