[iv], 88, [2] pp. With large woodcut printer's device on title, engraved title-page for the English edition 1632, portrait of Ovid in cartouche with text in English, and 15 plates. Full marbled roan. (binding damaged, spine severely damaged, some worming in the joint with some loss, vague waterstain in lower margin of last part) ¶ The plates, identical to those for the Oxford 1632 (Sandys) edition, are by Salomon Savery after Francis Clein. Francis Cleyn (or Clein or Franz Klein; ca. 1582 - 1658), born in Rostock, Germany, worked for the king of Denmark, stayed in Italy from 1611 to 1616, and was invited to come to London by the future king James I in 1623.
