(upper hinge a bit weak; outer margin of the frontispice partly missing without loss; ex libris Ernest van Aelst) ¶ L.Coci 'Bibliografia di F.Pallavicino" 3.4 (in: St.Secenteschi 24 p.231). According to Willems 1676 this edition was printed by Severyn Mathys in Leiden, others attribute it to Louis Elsevier; Pallavicino (1615-1644), satirist and bitter opponent of the pope and of the jesuits, was beheaded by the papal authorities in Avignon.
