A book of kyōka poems accompanied by twenty-one delightful sumi-e vignettes, edited by Bakuribo Teiya. Bakuribo, a kyōka poet based in Kyoto, was a student of kyōka poet Kyūjokan Donei (1723-1767). He edited three books of kyōka poetry published in 1783 by Fujiya Shinbź, including this volume. The woodblock-printed vignettes in this book feature musical instruments, fruits, ceremonial tools, landscapes, birds, and so on, and are displayed together with a poem in larger calligraphy than the main text. Original Japanese fukuro-toji binding, a little worn, wrappers debossed with decorative circular patterns. Original woodblock-printed title slip present. Light occasional marks and thumbing to text, one small wormhole to gutter skillfully repaired on all leaves. Images and text woodblock-printed. 1 v. complete. 23 leaves. 22.4 x 16 cm.
