Text leaves are clean but lightly toned at edges. Inscribed presentation from Edward W. Emerson, son of Ralph Waldo Emerson, to Moorfield Storey, whose bookplate is present on ffep. Storey (American, 1845-1929) was an attorney and an important civil rights activist who served as the first president of the NAACP. A very good copy with an interesting association. .
