Boyd Hamilton, 1852. 42 pp. Index to all 32nd Congressional documents + 760 pp. + 43 b/w plates, most folding, some large. 8vo. calf stamped in blind at edges of boards, one red (partially detached) and one black gilt morocco spine labels, the title reading "Senate Documents 1st S. 32d. Cong," with the numeral 6 stamped in black between the labels. Top of spine and center of spine scraped, small chip to crown. Small repair to rear board at top edge. Leather worn but supple. This single Senate document exhaustively covers the state of American lighthouses prior to the Civil War. The plates are for the most part in excellent condition, architectural drawings and engineering diagrams, with only one exhibiting a closed tear along the fold, and with only moderate to light occasional foxing. One small plate is detached, laid in. The endpapers show moderate to light foxing. .
