"A Midsummer Trip to the West Indies" is illustrated with wood-engravings. Two works by Hearn offered together in a complete volume of Harper's New Monthly Magazine (June to November, 1888). This volume also contains contributions from Edward Syslvester Morse ("Old Satsuma," p. 512-529), Henry James ("Two Countries," p. 82-116), Constance Fenimore Woolson ("Neptunes's Shore," p. 763-779, and "A Pink Villa," p. 837-856), and H. Rider Haggard ("Maiwa's Revenge," p. 181-209, 345-363). Thick octavo. viii,972 pp. Bound in a contemporary binding of three-quarter black leather with marbled paper sides, and title printed in gilt on spine. This copy shows some wear at edges, and the boards are rubbed, but is clean within. Very good plus. .
