Title: Bondi Jitterbug: George Caddy and His Camera.
Description: Sydney State Library of New South Wales Press (SLNSW Press), 2008. Paperback small quarto, thick card covers, stapled pamphlet, very good condition, black & white text-photos, minor edgewear spine ends, spine little creased, minor edgewear. 21 pp. This pamphlet tells the story of George Caddy who was born in Melbourne and moved with his family to Sydney in 1929. He took his camera to the beach on weekends. George's negatives were mostly unpublished and remained undisturbed in a shoe box for 40 years. When he died in 1983, his son Paul retrieved the box from the flat in Maroubra, but the box and the 290 medium format negatives disappeared among his father's unsorted possessions for some years. Two decades passed before their importance was realised. This pamphlet goes with the exhibition from December 2008 to February 2009, at the State Library of New South Wales, curated by Davies. Images in the exhibition are from negatives held by Paul Caddy. The photos cover the 1930s and 1940s at Bondi Beach, Sydney. ISBN: 0731371917
