BMN I, comp. p. 450 [ed. 1782]: Blake p. 271: Originally published in Lille, 1772 as 'De l'homme et de la femme, considérés physiquement dans l'état du marriage'. Rare first dutch translation dated 1772 by, according to Bibliotheca Medica Neerlandica vol.I, p. 450, 'Pieter Leuter', which somehow looks like a disguised name. The publication touches on all aspects that are linked with 'den huwelijksen staat' or matrimony, including fertility, reproductive process, pregnancy, impotence, lust enhancing remedies, virginity, man's and woman's reproductive organs etc. A bit in the style of Venette's 'Minsieke Gasthuis'. This Rotterdam 1772 edition is hard to find, more often the (2 vol) 1782 or 2 vol. 1785 edition may be found. From the library of van der Hoeven.
