XX, 201: Viguier (1745 - 1821) was a French orientalist: Brunet V, 1222: This is the fourth book known to have been printed at the French Embassy at Pera ['where Choiseul-Gouffier established a press in 1787', see note Blackmer sale]. From 1783 - 1802 Viguier was in Constantinople as apostolic prefect. 'His grammar was the first to distinguish in Turkish the exclusive use of either gutteral or palatal vowels within one word.'.
