(Pr. title upper blank margin some soiling; last leaf overall some soiling.). Boccalini (1556-1613) was an Italian satirist who wrote many political works, Governor of some of the Pontifical States. Much of his work was published posthumously, but since the peace of Nijmegen between France and Spain was made in 1678, 65 years after Boccalini's death, there appears to be somebody else hiding behind this name (Comp.
