Stensen [Steno] stayed with him and discovered the ductus parotideus (Stenonianus) at a sheep's head at his house. Blasius published the discovery in his 'Medicina generalis', which led to a public contoversy with Steno, who claimed the honour of the discovery...': BMN I, 1: Not in Wellcome of Krivatsky: Banga, 376: In the preface Blasius claims the discovery about which Steno complained in his 'Observationes anatomicae' (Comp. G&M 973). Then B. complained about this in a long letter to Steno's fellow countryman Bartholinus, who tried to reconcile the two. Comp. Dobson, 195/6: W. laudatory poems in Latin by Th.
