Bibl. van de Notariële Stichting, item 1066 (2nd and 3rd ed. only): 4th improved and much enlarged edition of Huygens' manual for the Notary Public. With an extensive vocabulary of terms at the end (pp. 365 - 475) listing approximately 3700 words and terms. The general outline of these so called 'Modellenboeken' follows the one laid down by Rolandinus Passagieri in his "Summa artis notariae" in the 13th century and used until the middle of the 19th century. Men like Gerard van Wassenaer, Jacobus Gohorius, Dirck Heymansz van der Mast, Jacob Boerbergh and Simon van Leeuwen in the 17th century and Jacob de Coeur and Huygens in the 18th c. composed their works with the basic form of the "Summa" in mind: either an example followed by a theoretical analysis and discussion or theory followed by examples. In general the books contain chapters on legal contracts, last will and testaments, the making of legally binding 'afschriften' or copies and minutes.
