He discusses a.o. the literature of Asia, the Indian game of Chess and the plants of India. The second volume incorporates pieces by a.o. Chambers, Vansittart, Rawlins and Polier on extracting the essential oil of roses, the mountaineers of Tipra, the cure of elephantiasis, the Lac insect, the translation of Sanskrit inscriptions etc. Volume 2 contains 28 miscellaneous pieces.
