Description: Wien: Der Zentralsparkasse der Gemeinde Wien, circa [1966]. [1966]. - Small folio [approximately 12 inches high by 9 inches wide], softcover. Five folders are laid into a folding golden brown paper slipcase. The corners of the case are creased and the spine is rubbed with the head & tail chipped. The front & rear panels are unevenly discolored. Laid in are 5 brown paper folders, each titled with the artist's name & with a row of 3 photos of the artist reproduced along the bottom edge. Text is printed on the back of each folder & on its inside panels & each contains an eleven inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide color print by the artist. The slipcase is good. The contents are near fine. This is the catalog for an exhibition of work by five artists of the Viennese School: Erich Brauer, Ernst Fuchs, Rudolf Hausner, Anton Lehmden and Wolfgang Hutter. The text printed inside the slipcase includes an unsigned essay "Die Wiener Schule" and an essay by Wieland Schmied titled "Zwischen Surrealismus und Manierisms". Each artist's folder contains a color print. A page-long essay on the artist by Wieland Schmied and a list of works (presumably those selected for the exhibition) are printed on the inside of the folder. The artist's bio is printed on the folder's rear panel. The text is in German. Good .
