Description: New York: December 31st, 1919. 1919. - Two paragraphs typed in purple ink on a cream-colored 10-7/8 inch high by 8-3/8 inch wide sheet of "Coudert Brothers / Counsellors at Law" letterhead. Signed "F. R. Coudert". The edges of the letterhead are slightly darkened & there is a little light purple smudging from the typewriter ribbon. The top & bottom edges are very lightly rippled. Folded 3 times for mailing. Good. Coudert writes to tour manager Pond: "I have your very courteous letter of the 27th, and expect to be at Mr. Maeterlinck's [Belgian playwright Maurice Maeterlinck] opening lecture at Carnegie Hall..unless prevented by wholly unforeseen circumstances... Good .
