Libretto by Myfanwy Piper, based on the short story by Thomas Mann, set to music by Benjamin Britten, Op.88. The first performance of "Death in Venice" was given by the English Opera Group at the Maltings, Snape on 16th June, 1973, as part of the twenty-sixth Aldeburgh Festival. Good .
