Title: American Archives: Fourth Series. Containing a Documentary History of the English Colonies in North America, from the King's Message to Parliament, of March 7, 1774 to the Declaration of Independence by the United States. Volume IV
Description: Washington, D.C., M. St. Clair Clarke and Peter Force, 1843. First Edition. Hardcover. Size: 4to 11" - 13" tall. Sturdy, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, quite unusual in the trade, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library. Massively heavy, oversized volume. Rebound in black cloth, with light dust soiling, but with new endpapers, and remarkably clean and unmarked of interior. Spine sunned, predictable age-toning to text, with some smudges; index leaves with damp-staining to margins, last few with small hole at upper corner. Overall, a very handsomely produced, good-looking volume. "Consisting of a collection of authentick records, state papers, debates, and letters and other notices of publick affairs, the whole forming a documentary history of the origin and progress of the North American colonies; of the causes and accomplishment of the American Revolution; and of the constitution of government for the United States, to the final ratification thereof." cxv + 1791 pp, including index. . . .
