In this edition some of the topics covered are: a brief history of saddles, a history of the Denver Mint and a profile of Sacajawea, Indian heroine, along with other topics. The stories are accompanied by black & white photos and drawings. With color frontis painting of a buffalo herd, "The Monarch of the Plains", by Robert Lindneux and drawings at chapter heads by Richard Holley. The edition edited by Nolie Mumey, noted Denver physician, surgeon and prolific author. --- In beige patterned paper-covered boards backed in blue cloth with silver-stamped spine titling & paper title block affixed to front cover with cow skull image. All textblock edges cut roughly, and leaves are tinted pale yellow. Light blue dust jacket with wrap-around image of mounted Indian. --- A clean, bright, tightly-bound copy with slight rusty soiling to endpapers from an old "Bro-Dart" protective wrapper, else lacking damages worthy of mention.
