With color and b&w illustrations at chapter heads by Everett Shinn; edited and with a prefatory note & introduction by Vincent Starrett. Also with appendix containing the original Charles Collins cover design and a couple of sketch maps. Sandglass leaflet is not present. --- In full pale grey cloth-covered boards w/maroon decorations on covers & spine, gilt title oval on spine, and maroon topstain. Possibly published c.1950s-70s, though 1941 date appears in book. Volume wrapped in maroon paper-covered slipcase. --- Overall, volume is in sound condition: clean and bright but with prior owner's signature to front free endpaper and slightly darkened spine. Slipcase with sunning to edges near opening and mild soiling, but remains structurally sturdy.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); xxxi, 263 pages. Very Good .
