Includes a foreword attributed to John Ray, Jr. (a character in the novel) and Nabokov's essay "On a Book Entitled Lolita" at rear of volume. --- In off-white paper-covered boards with zebra-like striping in grey; backed in black cloth with titling and decoration in gilt and copper foil on spine; red topstain and endpapers. Jacket features black & white photographic portrait of Nabokov by Maclean Dameron to back panel. --- With prior owner's signature to front free endpaper. Interior clean and unmarked; binding remains tightly-bound. Dust jacket with large chip to tail of spine, other small tears to edges and general age-toning, otherwise intact and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); 319 pages.
