The story is centered around the author's Frederic Henry character, an American serving in the Italian Army's ambulance corps. --- Bound in light and dark blue simulated leather paper-covered boards with author's facsimile signature and quill design on front cover in silver. Gilt, silver and blue titling and decorations on spine & cover. Probably originally offered by a book club, with 1957 date on copyright page but possibly published c.1960s-70s. --- A well-preserved copy: covers are bright and shiny (though with a few white specks to spine and back panel). Interior clean, unmarked and tightly-bound.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; (6), 314 pages. Very Good+ with no dust jacket .
