Includes an introduction by Eliot, and another by Darwin. --- In dark red buckram cloth-covered boards with titling and Harvard crest, and Charles Eliot's facsimile signature in gilt on the cover; gilt-stamped spine titling. TEG (top edge gilt), other edges deckled and with dark red ribbed endpapers. Lacks a dust jacket. --- A well-preserved copy: clean, tightly-bound and a sound though with slightly loosened front & rear hinges, a little wear to cover extremities and mild darkening to spine.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; (4), 553 pages. Very Good with no dust jacket .
