Clean bright yellow endpapers; unmarked but for small nameplate to inside front board of each volume. Gilt edges. 40 engravings in near fine condition with occasional age spots confined to edges of a few engravings all of which are paper guarded. Also, faint corner dampstain to lower front corner of a few of the pages. All of the engravings themselves are brilliant and clear. ; 11 x 16"; Engraved on steel, under the direction of D. J. Pound. With memoirs by the most able authors.1860. Volume 1: Appears to be the third series with 40 engravings (the first being Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte). The second volume appears to be the fourth series with 26 engravings subtitled July - December.. Very Good .
