El Alamein, fought during the last weeks of October/November 1942, was the first important victory by mainly British forces of the war, won at a time when Geerman forces were also struggling at Stalingrad, and set in train the series of British and later Allied victories that eventually won them the war, probably a library binding laminating the dustwrapper to the boards, personal bookplate on title appears to cover library stamps, dewey code at tail of spine but otherwise a very good copy, no separate dustwrapper, very good reading copy,
