Author: UNDERWOOD, Clarence F. Title: Girls of to-Day; with Twenty-Three Engravings in Colour and Seventy-Two in Black-and-White / with Poems by Various Authors
Description: New York City, Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1909. 1st edition. Hardcover. 4to. Bound in original brown cloth with large pastedown to front board. 24 colour plates present (frontispiece & 23 full-page plates in the text). One colour plate (showing a resolute young woman at the helm and a somewhat frightened-looking man in a sailing dinghy on a blustery day) has a small hole - not really noticeable at first - and a small spot, both of which resulted from off-setting on the facing page, which may have had something spilled on it. Several other plates coming loose, and one is loose and chipped across the bottom edge of the blank margin. Occasional spotting to the margins of a few pages. Not a perfect copy, but much better than usually seen, and not scavenged for the wonderful colour plates. Top edge of front bd. rubbed, sl. general shelf wear, else vg condition. No dust jacket. .
