Sold as a set of three, only. Beginning in 1864, this journal was edited by the Secretary of the Board. A journal established in 1861 'to make better provision for the encouragement of agriculture, and to provide for the promotion of mechanical science'. It also contains a fund of knowledge about trade and industrial production in Upper Canada in the years just before Confederation. Each monthly issue contains editorial notices, news of new industrial designs, techniques or patents, and lengthy articles on new developments in industry or agriculture (e.g. 'The Production of Silk from Caterpillars of Canadian Moths'); as well as reports from the Board of Arts & Manufactures. Each volume contains a comprehensive Index at the front. Ill.: black-&-white illustrations.
