The publishers have appended an eight-page listing of their books, following the text. Overall, in generally good, or good plus, condition. Observations by Fidler, presented 'in the form of conversations on the several points of his inquiries, with known or named individuals, whose nativity to the Transatlantic soil, or long residence in the country, may entitle their statements to respect.' Book I contains conversations on topics relevant to emigration to the United States. Book II contains conversations on Canada. (Howes F.110, see Watters p. 614 and Waterston p. 56 - 'anecdotal, witty, this sharply focused book belies its ponderous title'. Not in Peel or Lande).
